When Greenbrier Communications was first established in the late 1990s by founder and current president Bill Lenherr, it was his goal to provide the Greenbrier Valley and surrounding region with a much needed local option for Internet service. By 2001, when Lenherr joined forces with local entrepreneur Allen Carson to incorporate the business, the focus had already changed to that of PCs and network support.
In 2008, after 7 years working alongside Bill, Matt Wykle joined the ownership team as CTO. Matt, a graduate of Leadership West Virginia, specializes in the unique IT concerns of our healthcare clients. As a leading provider of network security solutions for regional medical and banking institutions, Greenbrier Technologies has worked to stay at the forefront of the evolving data security landscape. That’s where Matt shines.
Now, 15 year since incorporation, the company has diversified further as a comprehensive provider of value-added technology and electric solutions and now conducts business as Greenbrier Technologies & Electric.
According to Lenherr, a significant factor in the success of the company’s growth strategy has been a focus on building a solid foundation of business processes that scale easily. Developing specific customer relationship management (CRM), sales, accounting, inventory control, invoicing and other critical business processes has enabled the company to grow.
Another critical factor has been investment in employees; company-paid training and providing a work environment that encourages development of their skills has enabled Greenbrier Technologies & Electric to attract and retain a high quality group of technicians and account managers that work together to exceed their customers’ expectations.
