Greenbrier Historical Society Completes Network Upgrade
Greenbrier Technologies was recently engaged by the Greenbrier Historical Society to address their issues related to their aging hardware and network configuration. According to Bri Jackson, Executive Director, aging PC’s, each with a different operating system and productivity software, were causing increased downtime and productivity issues. Greenbrier Technologies recommended upgrading to the business-class Dell Optiplex series with Windows 7 Professional in order to provide a consistent, efficient and secure desktop experience for their employees.
To address and improve the perimeter security of their network, a SonicWALL firewall including Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Intrusion Prevention and Content Filtering was installed.
In order to handle the rapidly increasing volume of documents and images that the Historical Society needs to scan and save, Greenbrier Technologies recommended, configured and installed a converged network solution that included a Dell PowerEdge fileserver, HP printers and an Epson flatbed scanner.
According to Ms. Jackson, they selected Greenbrier Technologies for the project because they wanted a local vendor that could provide a comprehensive solution; someone who had the experience to recommend and supply quality products that fit their needs, as well as the technical reputation and ability to implement and provide ongoing support of the solution. Ms. Jackson stated that “We were very happy with the overall project. From our initial meetings through to the installation and training, the Greenbrier Technologies staff was knowledgeable and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them to other local businesses!”
